I use VueScan as well and I tried the autocrop feature which did not work for me. I use PGMX Stamp Fix which works extremely well. It separates, crops and deskews in one pass. It is best to scan or photograph the stamps on a black background.
Thank you both for the intriguing information. I'm looking forward to exploring both these products.

I use IRFANVIEW for all my photo manipulation. And I do a lot of scanning for eBay!
I find their program easy to use, I can crop by putting a box around the image.
I use VueScan when scanning stamps. I noticed a multi-crop option and decided to look at it. The help states it can detect and crop automatically but did not work when I tried it. I can manually select images and then VueScan separates. I am aware of other image parsing software.
Any one use this feature especially the automatic aspect? I tried scanning on dark and white backgrounds.
