There was a stamp of this design that was prepared by Whitehead Morris & Co., Ltd., in 1923, on the request of PM J.A. Robinson. The issue was for service between St John's and Montreal of a Vickers-Vimy (the aircraft depicted on the stamp). The flight did not materialize until years later, and the stamp was never issued.
However, the prepared stamp (essay?) was printed imperforate in yellow brown & black (Sanabria #S1). Examples are also known perforated 14x13½, but are in brown & blue (Sanabria #S2 and #S3). They are all in the $100-$300 price range.
The stamp you have is not any of these. In 1931 an American stamp dealer named A.C. Roessler produced a typographed imitation of the essay (cinderella). I have seen them on the market ranging for $5-$10. The one you show is somewhat worse for wear, so maybe $1-$2
thank you kindly for all that information
Found this stamp and would appreciate any help on its approx cat. value...thanks, capetown
