While on a tidy-up quest I came across the following, don't suppose they would let me order at these prices. Seems they were selling the "infamous crystal mounts"

re: Mystic catalogue from about 1941

My thinking is that when you factor in inflation, the prices are virtually the same. For example, the C4 USA airmail at 1941 price of .50 is the same as $10.50 today. You can certainly buy the stamp for $10.00 today.

Edit: I assume that there might be a few exceptions and that IF you had 2023 knowledge you could pick some 'winners'...

The National album was $6 (post paid) up to around 1940.

200 used US commemoratives priced at $9.50.

re: Mystic catalogue from about 1941

Anyone have the package from Ideal hinges for sale or trade?

I want to put together a 16 page fun exhibit for our March show with as many hinge packet examples as I can find.

If you have any odd ones please let me know

Bob

Was there any special characteristics of the Ideal hinges compared to others?

"'That's just it,' said the Hemulen in despair. 'It's finished. There isn't a stamp, or an error that I haven't collected. Not one. What shall I do now? ''Nature study!' declares the Hemulen. 'I shall botanize'. "

I remember buying them. They came in a small box and were not folded. I bought them from H. E. Harris.
