Good question, Bob. In the scan you have posted, I cannot see any vertical lines in the backgrounds. My copies of 307a and 309a (last examined by me in Jan 2012) definitely show vertical background lines and horizontal lines, appearing as a great number of tiny squares. I also see some differences in the left cheek and ear areas of your stamps. I recall that I referenced a specialized Denmark stamp website at the time I classified my stamps, but cannot now recall it's name or URL.
I did some searching, and came up with the URL which I think I used back then, combined with my Scott 2009 catalog.
https://www.jaysmith.com/Lists/Denmark/D ...
I hope this can help. My observations of horizontal/vertical lines, above, may be completely "out to lunch", and I am looking forward to any more informed opinions.
This is what I find in my Facit special catalogue. It is not AFA (which is Danish whereas Facit is Swedish), but it tries to explain the different types nevertheless.
Part 2, the various types for the 20 øre brown red, 30 øre orange and 30 øre brown red.
I decided to move my Denmark collection from my Scott album to Steiner pages.
Now I have three holes for 306a 307a and 309a.
Based on the Scott description I have no idea how to tell the difference.
I picked these four up last night and looking at them see no difference.
Can anyone tell me which number they are and/or point out the features that differenciate them?
Thanks in advance for any help!!!!
Bob
