If I could find the blasted thing I'd be happy - I'm concerned that when I do finally find it, I will find a mangled mess
Dropping an album may be fun but dropping a large full manila stock page binder is bad as well, but it is the sudden stop and landing, as it is in Sky Diving, that counts.
Once, several years ago the Machin reference singles collection, housing what was up the date at that time, virtually all major and many minor varieties, at least all I knew of, carefully inserted on Vario pages, landed upside down.
There are a few things that can make a grown man cry, usually involving harm done to children or sometimes the loss of a long time canine companion, but sitting on the floor picking up several hundred Machins and figuring out where they all go is an unmitigated disaster.
Fortunately, only about one third of the stamps and some of the penciled notes came totally free. The binder's three rings never operated properly again and being retired I had seemingly an infinite measure of time to put Humpty Machin together once more.
It is well also that this was before every Tom, Dick and Henrietta had a sharp focused digital camera built into the corner of their cell phone, and within arm's reach at all times, as I'd not like to revisit the situation every time the family gets together, or see the video posted on YouTube.
Oh poor Charlie. I feel your pain and yes I too would be happy there was no video phone around. I'm really grateful that the only thing missing is that Austrian pair. I think, anyway. I had forgotten I also had the other end of the stockbook full.
I don't know how you have the patience to work with your Machins but even the though of dropping that makes *me* want to cry.
Now I don't feel so bad about my pair!
Yikes, Charlie! I think I started tearing up a bit on that one!
I don't know whether to be more scared by the thought of seeing that Machin album tumble onto the floor, or shocked at the thought someone actually invested the time into organizing this series in the first place. My hat off to you, Charlie, for the initial and subsequent persistence!

My stockbook accidentally dropped the other day and I now have an empty spot where I used to have a nice pair of Austrian stamps. The space is open on the page, the stamps are listed in the database but I'll be damn blasted if I can find the pair!!!
