I was sorting through some South America and thought that the Dominican Republic stamp sure looked familiar. The Minkus catalogue has a note under the DR stamp on the similar US stamp.

The design of the 3 cent Newfoundland stamp of 1890 closely resembles the 5 simos 1898 stamp of Uruguay...Seems to have happened more than once...Kind of like the new cars of today There was a time I could name the model quickly now not until I see the company crest.....can`t totally blame it on the eyesight...lol
