Without identifying the group I have contacted the Senior Editor and asked permission to reproduce the article for an online nonprofit stamp group to study. This would be the better action to take so that we know with certainty.
Thanks,
Bruce
our moderator was correct to remedy this. We are NOT a non-profit organization; even if we were, which we are not, it would not give us the right to use, without permission, a published work.
Still waiting to hear from the editor of the article where this was published in 2001 to see if they will grant permission to show the article here.
What are we then if not a non profit?
Bruce
we are nothing (not in an essential sense, Bruce, but in a corporate sense as relates to us as an entity). We are not incorporated, nor LLC, nor any of those niceties. We're just a bunch of guys with diminishing eye sight talking about fascinating stuff.
What's this "We're just a bunch of guys with ..." ??? I'm sure that there is female participation here too!
Yes, some of the more attractive guys are females.
One of its definitions "...Usually, guys. Informal. persons of either sex; people: Could one of you guys help me with this? ..."
Thanks, David. If I haven't heard from them soon, I will write an article about Hennig for the group using some of my own covers as illustrations.
Bruce
Jill, I purposely exclude women and girls when discussing aginng, deterioration, diminishment, and other enfeebling and denobling aspects of the effects of food, age, gravity, DNA, and other often-unavoidable non-nicities. You are welcome to my party any time... my guys are always inclusive.

For years I was a Guardian Ad Litem for the local courts. Since that is quite a mouthful, it is simply abbreviate to GAL and those of us practicing in that area are referenced as GALs. Never bothered me in the slightest.
With that, back on topic folk:

We have had some discussion on here about Karl Hennig and his covers so I thought members might enjoy reading an article that appeared in Linn's in 2001 which I found today buried in the personal archives.
Since we are a nonprofit org and the article is being reproduced for educational purposes, showing it here would not run afoul of copyright law. We're not trying to make money off of it.
I realize that the third and final piece of this article is missing. I will try to locate and update this post.
Bruce
(Moderator's Note: The statement "...showing it here would not run afoul of copyright law..." is making an assumption that the reproduction of this article falls under the Fair Use Doctrine. The brief rationale given falls short of the four factors test. Furthermore, the "four factors test" is merely a guideline which judges use as a subjective tool in interpreting copyright law. Amos Publishing aggressively pursues copyright infringement, and publishing an entire article from one of its publications without prior written permission is a dangerous gamble, and one I am hesitant to permit.
I apologize to one and all, but in my judgment, reproducing the article from the April, 2001 issue of the Scott Stamp Monthly, violates the publisher's copyright. Accordingly, I have deleted the images of the article.)
