I was offered one with the protective cover. The seller would not give an asking price, but based on what I saw on eBay I thought I'd lowball $50 (Canadian) and negotiate from there. However, he enthusiastically accepted immediately, which makes me suspicious.

Thoughts?

Thanks, Dave.

re: Reasonable price for PRC 2003 Year Set?

Assuming it is truly a complete year set, you basically paid roughly 33% of catalog value.

The key will be the SARS issue, which has been the target of speculative activity. I think it currently catalogs in Scott for roughly $50 (and I'm sure it's italicized price).

The Chinese manned space mission issue and Mao issue might also be likely targets of speculative activity in the future. But it will be nothing like the Monkey stamps or Cultural Revolution stamps.
