Hi Snick,
I understand your frustration with trying to get through to place a subscription, it shouldn't be that difficult. I am not aware of any staffing issue at the ASDA. I suggest you call Tami Jackson, Ad Director. She is more then helpful and I'm sure she will get it straightened out. Don't give up, it's a great publication.

I finally got my subscription to go through. The checkout requires you to set up a password to use for the digital edition, with a minimum of eight characters. Problem is, when you use eight characters you get a message that it is invalid. I wound up using a thirteen character one and it went through. The registration process assumes you are a dealer, spaces for business name, dealer specialties, etc.
I understand it is a professional organization but if they are reaching out to non dealers maybe they need to divide the subscription process into dealers and non dealers.
Anyway I got it to go through. Here's hoping I actually get them.
This topic flummoxed me until I clicked on the thread! ASDA is a well known supermarket chain in the UK and I was intrigued to know what they had to do with stamps!
For all those across the pond, ASDA supermarkets are owned by Walmart.

I have been enjoying a subscription to the American Stamp Dealer Magazine for years. I got a notice around the Holidays that my subscription had expired, I mailed in a credit card renewal. Still nothing. Two weeks ago I emailed them asking re status- nothing. Today I went to their website with the intent of just processing a renewal that way.
I couldn't do it. They asked for a password of eight characters to use for the on line edition and i provided one, I kept getting the message that I did not have eight characters, I did- four numbers and four letters.
So I tried calling them. The site said to push option #1 for subscription services. That option leads to a long tutorial about selling stamps. I had to call back twice in order to get to be able to leave a message. (It is option #3) At this point I sort of doubt I will get a call back. I also doubt I will be renewing if I do not. Way too many hoops to jump through.
Is something going on that the general public is not aware of? Staffing issues, problems, what? This just seems dysfunctional.
