James, that is very odd.
In my 1.5 years here the members who buy are amazing. Relatively speaking, I actually feel deficient sometimes in what I promise and then can deliver when life gets crazy!!!
I wonder if your not accepting PayPal is an issue (though not an excuse). Perhaps buyers aren't clear on how to pay otherwise (including Canadians who often can't write a US$ cheque).
Hopefully, most of your issues can be worked out before forcing the "Administrators" to get involved. They go way above and beyond for us, and I certainly don't envy their sacrifices of time and pain...
Maybe give your scofflaws a very stern warning? Or for a small fee (payable to me in cash, bien sur), threaten to have "lemaven" email them daily with his thoughts on the world until payment is received in full...
Cheers, Dave.
Hello Dave: Thanks for your response.I do accept PayPal and that is in my methods of payment description but I do not use the logo on the item for instant payment;this has lead to problems in the past..... not here though... with buyers making an instant payment based on the lowest shipping rates;I prefer to send an invoice and a PayPal address at the same time.Take care! Jim
Jim, on Stamporama, the seller has to manually generate the invoice from which buyers pay. The buyers can't generate their own invoices, nor is there an "instant" payment process if someone uses the buy it now option. Here the payment process all comes from the seller.
Jim.
I think Michael got it sorted. Perhaps your use of the "No PayPal" logo is both unnecessary and a barrier to efficient settlement.
Perhaps worthwhile to take it off, notify your buyers, and see if that resolves it?
SoR members are, overall, possibly the most honest and trustworthy of stamp folk out there. So hopefully you'll get back on track quickly.
You might not have to stoop to threatening that lemaven will become their newest, bestest, relentlessest, email buddy unless payment appears immediately.
Dave.
I have been on the site about three months and on the whole I very pleased with reception here from the sales to the advice offered.Members who have purchased a goodly number of stamps have paid in a timely fashion with excellent communication but I have a half dozen buyer who have purchased amount between 2 and 5 dollars who have not responded to invoices nor emails;some going on over a month. There does not seem to be a way to block them from further bidding nor a way to place the items back in the approval books.A couple of hundred items in total making a mess of some books;items that others might have bought. So is this just one of the small liabilities of the site or is there anything practical to do?I dealing with a few Canadians and Americans so possibly after the July 1 and July 4 holidays when they take their empties back I will receive a payment??
