Reminds me of the time i ordered Quail..big mistake !
Any authentic Greek restaurant in Melbourne will whip you up some very yummy quails!
A plucked quail is no bigger than a fat sparrow, it would take 10 to give me a light snack. The stamp looks nice though. Does it come in a set?
10 quails? Have you heard of Jenny Craig? teehehhehe
That stamp is part of a set................a set of one.
You might try to acquire the other thirteen, Stu! They are brightly coloured, but all feature the same bird. At the risk of disturbing bees in bonnets, I should add that they were part of a consistent effort on the part of the French to promote the concept of "France Libre" in their far-flung colonies well before the time when France actually became 'libre'. France needed support, if not manpower, from those places. There are ten such sets, all easy enough to come by if you prefer mint stamps to used.
Thanks Guthrum. Wonderful information you have provided. Though i dont have any other New Caledonie stamps i do have (incredible though it may seem to some IN GOOD CONDITION) French Libre stamps for Oceanie,Reunion,St Pierre, Cameroon and more!
I shall take a look at the rest of the set and see what i can find.
Thanks again.
Cheers,
Stu
