I have been working on my Iran collection today, and notice something that I think is a little peculiar. Many of the stamps up to about 1960 have an unusually high Mint CV and an unusually low Used CV, compared to other countries. Has anyone else noticed this? E.g. #947 $15.00 vs $2.00. #948 $20.00 vs $3.00.

re: Iran Stamps

Unlike many other countries, Iran's population seems quite literate
and I suspect actually use the mail system.
That would have made used, and postally use
the stamps available to the general public.
It may also be that stamping is a good, quiet,
safe hobby that does not raise attention
causing mint stamps to be sought after.

Thank you. I will. Lots of fakes and counterfeits to worry about.
