Hi all,

I've been buying a decent amount lately via auctions/approvals and a question came up in my mind.

Once an auction closes and I have won, what is the expectation regarding payment?

Is it okay to wait for an invoice, or should I be actively pursuing the seller?

I don't want to wait for an invoice that might not be coming, and then have somebody not getting paid.

(EDIT) I believe that the rules state that an invoice MUST be sent by the seller.

Thoughts?

Thank you,

JR

re: Question about Invoicing...

John,

Sellers may employ different schedules for invoicing. If you have a question or concern, the best thing to do is just talk to the seller.

The rule in question would be:

"B4. Buyers who have not received an invoice within 5 business days of completing purchases with a seller must contact the seller to request that an invoice be sent."

I hope that helps.

That is actually the way that the system works. It's the programming that requites it to be done that way. Buyers cannot generate their own invoice to pay for their purchases. The seller has to do that.

re: Question about Invoicing...

Great!

My only fear was...

I win an auction.

I don't get an invoice.

I forget to contact seller.

Seller expects payment.

I have forgotten.

Seller is mad.

I ABSOLUTELY want to avoid this scenario, but don't really want to have to remember to ask for the invoice.

So, sounds good, an invoice is always sent, as I understand it.
