Bless you, Google Books !!!

This ad ran in the 19060705 (and subsequent) issue(s) of Geyer's Stationer, a trade publication that featured industry news, along with advertorials & advertisements, for pens, papers, office equipment and, yes, postcards for sale to stationery stores.

I will happily bet cash money that the inventor of the firecracker post cards is the great-grandfather of this moron:

Interesting!

The Rotograph Company

This one (not by Rotograph, but by World), did not find a buyer with a Buy It Now of $200:

I could not find a Rotograph Fire Cracker...

Holiday postcards is a neat topical area. I have heard that, of holiday postcards, Halloween postcards are the rarest.

I wouldn't mind having that one in the Franklin collection.. but nowhere near the number on that fishing expedition.

Of note.. Interesting that it went through with a one cent stamp. I believe the string would have put it at two cents postage. Anything additional on the card raised the postage, including glitter.

.
I gather that one of the few things that Ben Franklin did not invent was a better calendar:

1905 = the postmark (in Paul's post)

1906 = the advertisement (in my post)

1907 = the glitter rule, to wit:
