General Philatelic/Gen. Discussion : Do you see what I see? - possible Error?

These two stamps belong to a set of 3 issued in 1959. You can clearly read "1959" on the first stamps, but I think it is "1539" on the second stamp. You may be able to compare my stamp with your own copy and see what it says. Strange.

Without checking, let me guess: under-inking, debris ... nice curiosity.

OTOH, find more just like it, and you might have a plate flaw ... which would still probably be just a nice curiosity.

My stamps went through a water bath. I think USSR stamps from that period suffer some damage during water treatment. In the future I better leave them with the glue on (they are mostly CTO) no matter what the backs look like , hinges and what not.Confused
