Actually they are not fake but real USPS rolls of coil stamps.
ebay used to be a good place to buy discount postage but prices are not as good as they were
and now after postage and sales tax the savings are minimal, sometimes even more that if you buy them and the PO.
I sent a message to the seller that the stamps I got were fakes and he immediately refunded my money without asking for the roll of stamps back. Then he asked for 5 star feedback and has twice asked if I wanted to buy more. I have the roll as counterfeits may someday have value as collectibles ( ha ha ha )
They are probably listed in the Scott US Specialized Catalogue. If not, Scott would be interested in seeing them.
Modern counterfeit US stamps are a big business on ebay and Facebook Marketplace. They are being made in, surprise, China. I'm not saying all such offerings on the internet are counterfeit, but be careful. If you use them, and they are counterfeit, you could be getting a visit from the US Secret Service and/or US Postal Inspectors.
If you take them to your post office, they will be confiscated. A member if our local club purchased some that turned out to be counterfeit, and he took them to the post office because he thought they looked just a bit off. He didn't even get to keep one stamp!
...because it's against the law to possess them.
I have gone to the post office and the postmistress has given me direction to send the stamps for investigation. They are frauds.
I posted on the newcomer on May 30 th the question of these stamps. I had foolishly bought a roll and when they came I contacted the seller that they were fakes. He immediately refunded my money and then asked for positive feedback. There are different stamps being offered the same way.
Maybe this question was raised before, but my search did not find anything about this subject.
I see a big quantity of rolls of 100 forever stamps selling around $30, including free shipping. From $55 to $30 it is a great deal!
How these stamps are acquired? If USPS selling them by pound? Where can I go myself and buy these stamps and sale them later for $30?
