What site did you sell them on and how did the customer pay ?
Sorry left that out.
Sold on Ebay, he paid using a credit card, was charged full $500. Notice today from bank they are crediting me for $436, the $450 less fees. Where's my $50?
This ought to finalize tomorrow so maybe this is premature but with all the ins and outs with Ebay anything's possible.
The fees on a $500 sale (the postage counts as part of the sale) are more than $14.
$436 / $500 = 87.2% or 12.8% fees. Depending on your store status (i.e. what level) that is consistent with 10% final value fee and 2.8% payment management fee -- ebay basically took over the fees Paypal was charging.)

So likely that's it.
Glad not to be selling a lot of high end stuff. Good grief.. never paid a lot of attention to this end of things. Next time I'll include postage in my quote and hold out for more. Thanks to all for helping.
I sold two items total of $450 plus $50 toward postage. I got the $436 and some cents for the items. Nothing else. Buyer paid $500 total, where'd the rest go? Not to some special account for postage payments?
