It's extremely doubtful that we'll see anything from the Taliban Government. The last time they were in control (1996-2001) no valid stamps were issued at all.
When you say valid, do you mean something under the UPU rules?
SG calls all issues from 1990-2001 "spurious" and not officially issued. It's extremely doubtful that anything was actually issued. I haven't checked the UPU site.
Scott had listed the stamps, with catalogue numbers, at the time, and even printed album pages for the International Album. I don't know if the pages have been removed from current printings of the supplement pages.
The note in Scott, following Afghanistan Scott #1383, describes the stamps dated from 1996 through 2001. The introductory note to the list states, "Mavlavi Allahdad Balkhi, President of Post of Afghanistan Postal Administration, has declared that 'the stamps which have been printed after year 1989 are false stamps.'" Scott resumed listing Afghanistan stamps with the 2002 issues.
I checked Michel and under #1708-09 and 1710-11 the "Independence" stamps are show, at least as genuine stamps. Am I confused?
Have you got a link?
Michel is much more liberal on its stamp listing policies.
I am glad Michel documents the issues and lets the individual decide to collect or not.
I have access on line (special subscription) to Michel catalogs. I cannot give you a link.
Thanks, is it possible to show an image?
Actually, I have these stamps in my stock. Before Scott dropped them, they were listed as #1438-9 and 1440-1. Uploading from Michel is difficult and no complete sets are shown.
See the scans.
Has anyone seen new 2021 Afghanistan stamp issued by Taliban? Just wondering
North Vietnam issued a new stamp very quickly after taking over South Vietnam.
