On November 3, my wife received a birthday from a cousin who lives in St. Louis. It had been mailed on October 4.
By contrast, yesterday I received a cover from a dealer in England. I ordered it on November 3.

Last week I received a package from the USA that had taken 5 (!) months and 3 days to get here. A friend who works in the aviation industry told me that it is not even extraordinary. Especially at JFK international distribution centre the delays have become huge. When I talked about this, an acquaintance from my village showed me a letter from San Francisco to our place (Sint Maarten, Netherlands) that had been in transit more than 6 months.
What does not really help is that someone at the USPS decided that Sint Maarten, Netherlands could not be right, it should have been Sint Maarten Netherlandse (sic) Antilles. Never mind that the N.A. have been split up 11 years ago... So a little detour that makes an interesting cover.
Here it is, mailed 1 June, received 4 November. Note the country. No idea where Kyrgyzstan entered the game, it is spelled slightly different than Netherlands. It was corrected, then again corrected incorrectly and finally someone understood where it had to go...
Our mail seems to be delivered in near back to expected times (adjusted for new cross country delivery standards) including mailings from Canada. One recent SOR mailing must have jammed in a sorter due to uneven thickness of envelope judging by the fold marks.
Be aware that some Ebay customers demand a Refund, and receive it, after waiting 10 or so days for a shipment to arrive. They then receive the shipment at a later date. I have had this happen to me twice recently.
I receive the newsletters from the Pitcairn Islands. I received the latest batch a week ago. It was mailed from the island over 6 months ago. It usually takes 3 months to arrive.
I find there's not much of a delay for regular letter airmail coming here from Europe. It's the mail service delivery between Canada & the USA that seems to be unusually slow.
It will get even slower now with the Christmas mailings in the delivery stream.
I used to get mail from England in five to seven days. Now it takes three to five weeks.
I read somewhere that the mail sits in Customs (or some such way station) in New York for weeks on end.
Mailing from one place to another with the US isn't much better. I had one buyer tell me that they had not received their eBay item three weeks after I had mailed it. I assume they receive it shortly thereafter, as I didn't hear from them again

I had a package arrive from Denmark on Monday. It took only 10 days. Once here, a postal carrier couldn't find my address even though I live in a 56 unit complex. She then decided to put it on the porch of a nearby house. The Postal Service still hasn't found it. I have two other packages arriving shortly without tracking numbers. I wonder where they will end up.
#10 Envelope - Mailed from SASK to BC Canada Dec. 11 - Arrived Dec. 22
#10 Envelope - Mailed from CA USA to BC Canada Oct. 1 - Arrived Dec. 22
Almost 3 months delivery from California to British Columbia - Unbelievable.
I have a missing shipment from Pennsylvania to North Carolina.
I'm still waiting on a Stamporama purchase from Florida (2 envelopes) to Manitoba, which were sent over a year ago. Do not really think they will ever arrive. Such is life.
Here's today's snapshot... four days (note the 19th was a Sunday) Florida to Pennsylvania during the holiday rush isn't bad at all. Big heavy box of covers should be sitting there when I get home later today! Yippee!
Sunday delivery
Two packages arrived today. First took six days to arrive from Nevada + the second five days from Sweden. The package from Sweden sent registered mail was franked with numerious Souvenir Sheets + booklets all neatly cancelled and placed in a plastic protective pouch.
This is my all time record.
I bought this lot on 30 May 2022, it was posted 1 Jun from Hong Kong, registered and I received it on 7 Oct 2022. 4 months, 1 week. Talk about taking the slow boat.
Has anyone else noticed that the mail delivery times to and from the US have recently become worse?
Today I received a small First Class Paid envelope mailed from Jacksonville, FL on October 18th.
Today is November 10th - 23 days after the envelope went through the first cancellation machine.
There is no apparent damage showing on the envelope & no signs that it was held up at customs.
Maybe now that the border is open we can have our mail hand delivered by one of our Snowbirds heading south
