We visit Anne Frank House in Netherlands (Holland) many of years ago. We enter house from main entrance. We saw hidden area behind the wall. We were nervous when we saw Anne's room, it was very emotional and difficult to us. Anne & children left world long time ago. We believed the best way to honor 1.5 million voiceless children is to remember them forever.
Children are most precious of all.
We must defend and protect children.

Most people seem to use the word "Holocaust" ( destruction
by fire ) to refer to the some 6,000,000 Jews who were
systematically murdered by the Nazi regime during or just
before WW II. However, the Nazis are actually responsible
for about 17.000,000 executions of Jews, gays, minor criminals,
political minorities, Jehovah's Witnesses, Romi, and
other people they deemed 'unhealthy or undesirables.
While that huge number includes a substantial number of
military prisoners, there also were millions more war
casualties on both ides, all of whom could be considered
victims of their years of Facist Rule.
And today apparent6ly some 40%++ Americans do not recognize
the significance of the word Auschwitz or the dates of that
Uber Holocaust. In fact, I am frequently depressed by the
lack of knowledge of my fellow citizens of the differences
between modern Facist ideas and Democracy.
Today we may memorialize the 6,000,000 Jewish people who
were cruelly slaughtered, but should not forget the tremendous
toll exacted by a two-bit dictator.
The Holocaust was the worse case ethnic cleansing of the 20th Century and its greatest crime against humanity. The Nazis attempted to wipe out an entire race. We should also remember that some of the first people sent to the concentration camps were the Nazis political opponents, be they communists, socialist or liberals. Politics should be about logic and reason, not hate. While we are remembering we should also think about our attitudes to refugees. When the good and sometimes brave people were organizing the Kindertransport, think about the parents who were waving their children off at the railway stations with little hope of avoiding what was to come. The shut doors to immigrants of our nations took away their hope. That's it, I'm done preaching.
Today is Holocaust Remembrance Day. If nothing else, please pause for a minute to think about those 1.5 million children who were murdered by the Nazis and their collaborators. Whose lives were thrown away with less regard than we would give to tossing a common stamp with missing perfs, thins, or tears into the trash. Who never grew up to be doctors, teachers, mothers. And think about your own children who will never have to face such terror.
Thank You. To everyone who has donated stamps to The Holocaust Stamps Project - even those "imperfect" ones. Eventually (when this darned Covid disaster ends) they will be given a chance to show their value as works of art. We are currently above 800,000 collected towards our goal of 1.5 million (each stamp representing one child lost to The Holocaust). Thank you to those who donated cash (or stamps to be sold) helping us buy Holocaust-related stamps that are being incorporated into our "Philatelic History of The Holocaust" stamp album.
Time Out. I will be taking the remainder of the week to think about how I can help keep the memory of those 1.5 million children alive. I saw a news report today that more than 80% of Canadian schoolchildren are interested in learning more about The Holocaust, yet feel their schools are not providing that education. Covid has so-far stymied my efforts to get in front of people and get involved in that process, but I will be mapping out my strategy going forward. I also need to update my dreadfully-ignored website...
Sales & Invoices. I am going to organize this past month's purchases by buyer this weekend and I am happy to send an invoice to anyone who wants one now (just ask). However, starting Monday I will also launch a number of new Auction items and Approval Books available for anyone who wants to wait for an invoice.
Many thanks, Dave.
