We protect our stamps in many ways - archival storage, shelving away from little hands, insurance, alarm systems etc.

Here’s one of my theft deterrents - LOL. (Thought we could all use a laugh!)

I tell no one in the area that I have valuable collections in the house!!! Very few local people know, only close friends!

I use a simple method. A Post Office Box. No one knows what treasures live at my house!

eBay has a function called "Send Offer". They select some of your items that have watchers and allow you to send them an offer. It's maybe 5-20 items at a time. Since I sell covers I generally take my $1.99 covers and discount them a quarter to $1.74. It's been fairly successful and I always notice immediately on my sold list since $1.74 isn't a number I regularly list things at.

My text usually goes:

"Happy Friday! Sending this special offer to all the viewers of this great item! Grab it quick before someone does!"

I was doing one the other day, and looked at the text right before I sent it... note that the I and O are right next to each other!

"Happy Friday! Sending this special offer to all the viewers of this great item! Grab it quick before someone dies!"

I have no idea if I sent any this way... maybe this is why people instantly pony up the money?

Don't be surprised if you see me kicked off eBay for threatening people! Happy

In Canada, we have simpler methods of protecting our stamps - stamp mounts and lightweight open top page protectors!

No messy cleaning kits, nothing like that!

I prefer one of my S and W .38 specials. The one with the long barrel. It’s very accurate.

I have an attack cat by the name of Obie!!! He can be vicious when provoked. He's diabetic and gets his insulin shot twice a day and the other day when I snuck up on him to give him his shot he let loose a cat-fart that was so bad that any stamp thief would run for the hills. He's cute, but LETHAL!! Rolling On The Floor Laughing
