I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

As mentioned in my last post on this subject, I decided to bite the bullet and purchase the stamp. Even though there was mention of a thin at the top, I made the decision, based on the additional scans provided by the seller. The selling price was about 20% of cat value and came with an APS certificate of authenticity. I have been looking for a long time and this completes my German Airpost collection from 1919-1955. For those interested in the size of the thin, see the below scans.

Now if someone has a German semi-postal Scott #B58 that they are willing to part with, let me know and maybe we can make a deal. That will complete my German Semi-postal collection from 1919-1990.

Such a minute flaw - I wouldn't hesitate to purchase if it were in my collecting interests!

Nice pick up, Mel.

You can always pick up a better one later if you want, and you have this one to use as your authentic overprint for comparison. These are often found with forged overprints. Good find.

"German semi-postal Scott #B58"

I'd love to check my German stock, but alas, I have no idea what stamp this is. A year or description would help me look for you Happy
