I will very much miss your stamps while you are away!! But life comes first, have a great trip. I've been to London once and loved the shows and the museums, when Covid is a little bit more in the "rearview mirror" I have to go back!! My wife was very much into British folk music and we went over for a John Tams concert in a little pub up north. We got to talk to him, his gorgeous wife Sally and his daughter. I still get e-mails from Sally about future concerts. They were two of the nicest people I have ever met. He is performing as a single act now since his good friend and backup performer Barry Coop (I think) died recently. You might know him as Daniel Hagman from the Sharpe series.
Good Luck, Have a great time.
Have a good trip Dennis. Sounds like fun! Dave.
Since the arrival of my one and only grandson a number of years ago I have devoted the revenue from selling the excess stamps from my collection to taking the young fellow on a vacation every year. This commenced when he was 3 years old and we have managed to accomplish this every year since with a brief hiatus due to Covid.
He has seen a good chunk of Western Canada, several Western and Southern States, virtually every island in the Caribbean and country in Central America. He loves the beaches. Who wouldn't when its 30 below during an Alberta winter?
This year we will be spending a good portion of July in August in Great Britain and Ireland with a brief foray onto Mainland Europe. He is 16 now and I made him responsible for researching and planning a large part of our itinerary. From narrow boating on the canals in England and Wales to hiking in Ireland, he has put a lot of thought into the trip.
I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all of you have purchased stamps from me over the years. It is you who have made these journeys with my grandson possible through your support of my books and auctions.
Time to take a break, recharge the old batteries and then try to come up with a bunch of interesting listings to post when we get back in late August.
Thanks again for all of your support.
P.S. We will be leaving the "Groucho Marx" glasses and noses you see in our photo at home.
