I'm curious about the vertically laid stamps, that my Minkus album shows. I have from #19 - #38 except for #21 which is not listed, these are on horizontally laid paper. The only problem is that there are versions of #19 - 28 (designated 19c or a - 28c or a) on vertically laid paper. They are quite a bit more expensive, but not outrageous. I wouldn't trust buying them on E-Bay because I don't know if they would be accurately numbered. I'd love to have a few of them to fill out that page a bit and I'm wondering how many of you Russia collectors out there have had any luck locating them. I'm also needing #'s 39 and 40 to fill the page and since they are also a bit more expensive they are a bit scarce. Just curious if any of you have managed to find any of this material. I'm not trying to buy from you so there is no need to put this post in another category - I'm just curious if anyone else is even looking for them.

Edit: I occasionally find these listed on E-Bay. They usually show the backs of the stamps and in most cases you can't tell what the paper is or I've seen several cases where the paper is really the cheaper Horizontally laid version. It's really hard to buy if you don't trust that the seller has a clue what he/she is talking about!! Or, is just crooked!!

Edit #2: I checked my SG catalog as well. They also acknowledge the different paper types but have early Russia differently set up so I'll stick with my Scott numbers since that's the way I have numbered my Minkus album - that took a lot of time and my wife, who was a librarian and loved that type of thing, did the work for me!!
