In the Steiner pages they have places for values 1d, 6d, 8d and a 1sh rose before the 2sh waermarked NZ wide apart. That's where I put my double of that one. I never looked in Scotts before but Scott's seems to start numbering at the blue 2sh now.
Hope that helps.

BTW my steiner CD is about 10 years old so it may have changed by now.
Thanks Bob, I really had no idea! I wonder why they did that, unless they figure they weren't meant for postal use. But that doesn't seem to stop Scott's most of the time!!! I am a fairly new collector of NZ and still have a fair bit to learn. The early stamps are quite pricey and I might not even bother with anything before #50 and save the larger dollars for my more serious countries, like US and Canada.
My New zealand starts at Scott #51, before that they are too rich for my blood I end at 1990 and there are still lots of holes to fill in. The first five semis are a challenge and the dues are a nightmare! But still there are fun to chase and the odd one does turn up to fill in a space a reasonable price.
Good luck filling in all the holes !

It is listed as a fiscal stamp in my 1986 Barefoot & Hall 3rd edition of British Commonwealth Revenues. Yours appears to be the 1867 issue as the 1866 issue is imperf and the later 1867 issue is the wrong color. Hope that helps.
Thanks Henry, a huge help. I looked some of the Barefoot books up on Abe's. For the few revenues I end up with that are not in Scott's the prices are a bit high.
I got these 4 stamps from Bob Bidner this morning. There is no problem identifying three of the stamps but one of them has me stumped!
The two, five and six shilling stamps are not a problem but the one penny doesn't seem to be with the New Zealand fiscal (AR code) stamps in my Scott's. Of course I could be just missing them. Can someone help me out? I really hope Bob doesn't mind me using his image!! By the way Bob, thanks, great material as always!!
