I had this on another thread.

"I just love the local auction houses. They haven't a clue.

I was looking through one box with a description of 5 Albums of GB with an estimate of £80 to £120. It has ALL the GB 2012 Olympic Stamps, Mini Sheets and covers (worth the estimate alone).

There is also a stockbook of MNH GB from George V to QEII. Yes it has ALL the George V including both sets of Wembleys and the complete Set of 1929 PUC's.

YES including the £1 value MNH (2017 Scotts cat value for MNH $1500!!!!!!)

It will be interesting to see what it goes for."

The result is in £1050 plus 25% Buyers Premium plus Value Added Tax = £1362.50 at $1.25 to the £ = $1703.12

I was unable to attend the auction in person so last night I placed a bid on another lot over the internet. This afternoon I noticed that the hammer price was my bid.

Yeeeeee.....Haaaaah I'd won!!

"Oh no you didn't" as the pantomime phrase goes.

Unfortunately I did not win the lot as someone placed an identical bid earlier than I, so they won the lot. (e******** d******!)
