I spent the better part of 20 years in the USAF, but never ran across a stamp club on base. There were only a few of us (usually officers) that collected stamps and we wound up joining local clubs in the surrounding towns. Most career-minded military folks wind up moving around every couple of years in order to advance their careers and earn promotions, so that didn't square well with trying to establish anything of permanence like a club. The Officer's and NCO clubs were for-profit bar and grill type locations, so they didn't really count.
We were posted to CFB Greenwood NS in the mid-60s as I was going into Grade 4. That's where I started stamp collecting and got my Cub-Scout badge in "collecting".
There was one guy who held a bi-weekly club meeting for kids in his basement. Stamps spread out on a big workbench and you could pick out 10 for 5c (I think...)
Those were the days of metal racks in pharmacies with tons of envelopes/glassines of big colorful stamps from exotic countries like Qatar, Dubai, etc

I am an Army Brat. My father was a US Army career officer. There was a stamp and coin club on post in Pirmasens, Germany when I lived there circa 1969-72. I was a member. I was 12 to 14 then.
The only club I remember was a coin club on Okinawa at the Kadena AFB USO. There was no stamp club.
Cheryl:
I don't know of specific on-base clubs, but I collect covers of stamp collecting-related publications and if you can find access to the below publication you might find some information on military stamp clubs. It was based in the Pentagon. If the publication was in the Pentagon, most probably there was a stamp club there too.
The American Philatelic Research Library has a run of this publication (1948-1951) and I'm sure the library staff would tell you if it contained info about on-base clubs.

I may have asked this question before but here goes. In Canada during the 70s and 80s there were philatelic groups or stamp clubs on several military bases in Canada Can any member add to the history of such clubs in other areas, countries etc. ?
Just wondering
Cheryl
ps Greenwood and Cornwallis in NS had clubs Local collectors joined as well
