Does mail from US to Canada go through one point of entry?

From the USPS website on Sunday morning January 5:
U.S. Postal Service will resume acceptance of mail and packages to Canada
The U.S. Postal Service will resume acceptance of mail and packages to Canada starting Monday, Jan. 6, 2025. Canada Post has made significant progress in clearing delayed volumes caused by their employee strike, and now commercial and retail customers, as well as those using online systems, will be able to send mail and packages to Canada once again.

"Does mail from US to Canada go through one point of entry?"
I have a package stuck somewhere at the border since 14th. Nov. Does not seem to have moved since. Here is the current tracking information .
Nov. 14, 2024 11:37 am
International item has left originating country and is en route to Canada
Usorda, USA
Here on the other end I received my first shipment of stamps from one of our sellers here on 31 December from Ontario to the middle of nowhere USA. No dated cancel, but I paid for the items on 21 November. Got a second one the day after New Years.
It has always taken weeks to get something from Canada. I'm less than 700 miles away but it has always taken, it seems, forever. I can get a letter from Australia in 10 days, never Have I from Canada. Why?
I received a Christmas card today from Ontario which was mailed on December 18.
I received an SOR stamp purchase today after 20 days in transit. Safe and sound. A little late but all is well.
Still awaiting item from USA that arrived at border 14th. Nov. It has, according to tracking, been in Brandon about 30 miles away since the 10th. January. All week it has been "delivery expected by end of day tomorrow".
Mail from UK, including Christmas cards, has not arrived nor has the letter from Barclays Bank regarding the account closure and balance transfer. Quite why they wrote a physical letter rather than use email I can only presume is a delaying tactic, allowing them to utilise my meagre funds for longer.
I am also awaiting a reply to my October letter to the UK Government requesting a change of banking details. I guess at least that means I have saved 16 weeks of pension payments so far.
I'm sure that a lot of mail is sitting in the Canada Post depots and will be very slowly dealt with as they were ordered back to work.
Hi Vincent
Moose Jaw seems to be the place to post letters from in Canada
Sent from Moose Jaw 2nd of January 2025 arrived to me in Ireland today 17th January 2025
John
Must be. I received an order from Moose Jaw last week that took just over 2 weeks.
Mid November a member sends me an order in 2 envelopes. One arrived right on the first day service resumed around Christmas, the second one is still a no show. A parcel for Christmas from my parents - mostly for the kids has not arrived yet. Two shipments of stamps from members in Eastern Canada mailed before new year are still somewhere in the system. Another shipment one of the same members made, weeks later, arrived today ! A kiloware lot sent to me in November with tracking is also missing, as are many other items!
But Canada Post announced the other day raising their letter rates by 25% !
Poor service - higher pay - makes sense.
They haven't even given their employees a raise yet, from what I gather, if the old labor agreement is still in effect. Or did they?
No REAL mail but the pizza and Mac ads are coming through without fail.Easy to see Canada Post's priorities.Within 5 years Canada Post will not exist as we know it now......gone along with the daily news paper.
Barclays UK letter written on 6th. November arrived in the mail on 17th. January, postal label from Austria! Mail from USA still not arrived, explanation now "Item delayed- stay tuned for updates"
The thing is, if they were working at close to capacity before the strike, now they are struggling even more with just the regular volumes of mail, since some employees did not return to work after getting ROEs.
This would mean they don't have the staff to deal with a backlog of over a month. This is my explanation and I really hope I am wrong. The CP employees at the local branch are always giving me optimistic updates; but the missing mail says otherwise.

@Doug
The link does not work for me, I tried 4 times.
Perhaps this is the correct link?

I have to wonder whether we are hearing the death knell for postage stamps. Stamp sales cannot possibly assist with Canada Post’s appalling financial losses. Iceland stopped issuing stamps recently. Who besides us collectors are even buying stamps these day. Our letter carrier arrives once a day, five days a week; delivery vehicles from FedEx, Purolater, UPS, CanPar, Amazon, etc. stop at our 47-unit apartment building from early morning to quite late in the evening, seven days a week.
Personally, I could live without Canada Post, knowing, however, that our cost for deliveries of parcels and “parcels” would skyrocket. And I wouldn’t miss the opportunity to buy new Canadian stamps since the only Canadian stamps I that interest me were issued before 1950. Perhaps when all stamps become “antiques,” more people will become interested in collecting them, not to mention covers.
Bob
I have a large envelope going to Canada. Should I hold onto it until the strike is over, or drop it into a mail box and let someone else worry about it?? Thank you.

Thank you Roy! I'll wait.

I have two items arriving Via E-Bay, two lots from SOR and one item privately from SOR. They all should be here soon so I have my fingers crossed. If I'm lucky enough to get all lots next week I'll try holding off for a while (unless I see something real real good
.) I think a strike is definitely on it's way but hopefully not for a week or so!!!
I received an envelope from Charlotte SC (postmarked 21 November) on 4 January. So basically 6 weeks + 2 days.
Our postal strike lasted from 15 November to 17 December, and normal services would have been suspended for 25-26 December and 1 January (4 weeks + 1 day since being mailed).
That's a net of just over 2 weeks in unencumbered transit. Not too bad I'd say!
We now have until 25 May before the strike can be renewed. And with a federal election all but assured to bring in a new majority government sometime in March (possibly April).
So, I would say US-Canada sales could probably safely resume with invoices delivered/paid, and stamps mailed either way no later than 2 May.
I'm responsible for setting up and managing the polling stations in my city for the federal election, so will keep you informed of any developments on that front that could affect mail delivery.
Cheers, Dave.
