I've had two tracked packages drop off the face of the earth in the last year of so. The tracking site shows them leaving a given post office or sorting facility and never arriving at their next stop. I reported this to USPS, but they appeared baffled.
I get the message 'Video Not Available In Your Country'.
Any soR members know more about this?
Try this link, not the same report , but about the thefts.

Why is this such a "Big Surprise", to anyone, when they handle 318 million pieces of mail every day? Like most businesses there is always a certain amount of shrinkage, or loss and "IF" they lose only 1% each year, that is still a tremendous amount of mail. Machines are not infallible and a good percentage is certainly going into lunch boxes or pockets or even just dumped somewhere along the road. I just wonder how many of the insured items go missing, on an average? Most of the dealers I deal with send their material to me insured and I do not ever recall a missing shipment. Most of my mail anymore, is just junk mail anyway and I don't think I would miss any of it ever. The only reason I like receiving mail is because it gives our mailman a job and he is excellent in his service.
Maybe Trump should send in Musk to clean that mess up!!!!

Tsk-tsk! Not supposed to talk Polly-tickles here, but what the heck; maybe they'll send Big Balls in. Maybe put some morale back in the Postal Service, and the few bad eggs might take more pride in doing a really good job. I'm not gonna hold my breath on this one, but keep my fingers crossed whenever I post a letter, or open my mailbox.
"Why is this such a "Big Surprise", to anyone ..." The surprise is that the USPS is actually doing something about a counterfeit stamp ring.
Surprise! You can still buy counterfeit stamps from several sites on Ebay and Facebook. Mail theft is a common problem around the world. It seems if a USPS worker is caught they might receive a slap on the wrist and keep on working.
If the USPS is anything like Royal Mail then they are using large amounts of "Agency Staff".
The majority of these folkies have no loyalty or pride in the job they only want paid, as do the "Agency".

"A new government report is pointing the finger at postal workers – calling thousands of cases of stolen mail an inside job. NBC 7's I-team reporter Alexis Rivas has details."
