Better than my design, I'm cheap all materials needed are found in my little workshop (shop of horrors).
Well done sir.
Thank You
This is a very nice solution and useful explanation of how to duplicate the solution!
Simple yet effective.
Well done, Vince!

I received a large stock certiicate from 1899, David, yesterday. It was in fine shape but did need to be flattened out for me to mount in a presentation book.

I find that these are great for holding larger pieces and the price is reasonable.
I made my large sweat box for items like this. I also have a smaller one.
Here are a few photos of my set up.
I use a large shallow plastic storage container with a couple of smaller containers to keep the item out of the water.

I put a cut to size an egg crate light defuser found at the home supply house that carry flouresent lights.

Next I add about an inch of warm water.
Next comes a piece of linen to lay the patient on, it helps in lifting when the item is damp and fragile.

I put the lid back on and let rest for about eight hours.
When I remove the item I place it on blotter paper that sits on top of plexie glass, another layer of blotter paper and plexie glass with a weight. Let it sit over night and this is the result. Nice and flat for easy desplay.
