What a great item for a stamp room! The price is good too. I check out Ruby Lane occasionally, it's a great site
"in sanitary folders" wow! ![]()

I just noticed the seller says it is untested so there might be stamps inside. I wonder what the contents would look like, booklet panes, individual stamps, etc. in sanitary folders(?)! I'm tempted to get in touch with the seller about shipping to Canada, Ruby Lane tends to be cheaper that E-Bay since it's up to the individual seller instead of a service. I've always had very good service from the people here I have bought from!!
Very unlikely stamps and money would still be inside!

So you were a 1st sergeant in the Air Force? Where did you serve? How many years? Where? What was your specialty?

@Harvey,
I've got one of those. I picked it up about 10 years ago at the Waldo Flea Market. I think I paid $25 for it. One of these days when I get my office all set up the way I want it, I'll set it out on display. For now, it sits atop a closet. I love the bright colors and Uncle Sam!

I want YOU, to collect stamps!!!
Neat. So for 25 cents or 50 cents - how many stamps of which denomination would you get?
For 25 cents you would probably get a 22 cent stamp. For 50 cents you would get 2.

Tad, I suspect you are spot on. These things scream 1980s and the first class letter rate was 22 cents in 1985. These machines weren't in place to really make money but more as a service to customers. They were usually found in little country stores.

I saw this a few minutes ago on a site that rarely has anything stamp related. I just thought I'd pass it on in case anyone has an interest! Neat looking item!!
Just looking at it it seems to have a 1960's look going on!!
