It might just be my old computer but I have never been able to use cut and paste for images in the message area. Would it be difficult to program for this? If it is, then no problem, I'm just curious. For highlighted text it is not a problem unless the text is large. Again, it might just be my old computer!

@Harvey

Here's the instructions for you!

Discussion Board Image Upload

How Do I Upload an Image Into My Message Posting

Unlike the old Stamporama Discussion Board, it is now incredibly easy to upload an image into your discussion board message posting and for you to position the image where ever you want to, just by clicking in the text area that you are keying your message into before you start the upload process.

re: How difficult would it be to allow paste to work in messages area?

Sorry, my bad!!! I didn't mean the discussion area, that is easy, I meant as part of a message! Sorry about that!
Edit: Actually copy or cut / paste doesn't work for me here either. It's super easy to download an image but you can't paste one. And downloading an image doesn't work in messages at all. Is there a way to insert an image in a message without giving a link to one online?

I'm not talking about here, I'm talking about cut/paste or downloading an image in the messages area. It is easy to download an image here in the discussion area, even though you still can't use cut/paste.

@Harvey

Select "General"

Find "Uploading an Image:

The new discussion board has the ability to upload an image and place it at any point in the message posting that you are creating. Please see the Stamporama Article regarding image uploading by clicking here.

I think this is what you are looking for maybe.

I think Harvey means in private messages, not on the discussion board.

Thank you Vic, finally I got the point across! Now I need to know how you can put an image there. My gut tells me you can't! Whenever I need to send an image personally I think I have to use an email. That's fine but I'm still curious if I can send it in a personal message.

I don't think inserting an image in PM is enabled, when I submit an image I host it on my site and add the link, that's possible.

Tim will have to answer that question but I do not think it is possible. For a test I uploaded an image in discussion then copied link to a message and then sent it. All I saw was the link.

Just a quick message with no controversy attached at all! I got this in a message from Tim Auld and if you follow the instructions very carefully it does all you to put an image in a personal message - I tried it!

"First you have to upload the image in the Members Area. Then use the "Copy to Clipboard" button, to copy the file name. Then just paste it into the (message in the) following format.

![](/upload/2002085158.jpeg)"

re: How difficult would it be to allow paste to work in messages area?

I tried it as written and still does not work for me. In my first test, I used the bbc code for image and when I used the copy from member area I got this without any tags and that did not work. It does not match what you pasted.

Copy function yield this..... /upload/2002103103.jpg (no brackets, parentheses, etc)_

What you posted is this has a different format.

re: How difficult would it be to allow paste to work in messages area?

It looks very strange but the last line has to be exactly as shown

"![](/upload/2002085158.jpeg)"

with all the symbols. I used jpg instead of jpeg and the 2002085158 is replaced by the number of your image in the image area. When you send the message the weird line should show up as an image. This is very hard to explain but when I sent the message it worked! Honest!!

You're right, Harvey. I did the same thing: I copied your text with those symbols and simply changed the number from an image of mine, and that's it! I'll save that code so I always have it on hand. hee, hee. Thanks!
