Did America ever make a .125c stamp??
Scott #1031A is a 1 and 1/4 cent definitive stamp issued June 17, 1960 in the Liberty series, illustrating the Palace of the Governors, Santa Fe. Eight hundred copies at face value would have cost $10.00.
Thank you
Good guess
But wrong

As Londonbus1 suggests... 1898 Proprietary Stamp, Scott #RB20.

Good guess, thanks.
But this stamp is 12,5 cents, you can't get 800 of them for $1.00!

This thread is going slowly down the hill ! The opening post mentioned nothing about 12½ cents.
Have some posts been deleted ?

This is confusing me!! Is someone getting 0.125 cents mixed up with 12.5 cents?

I believe that I already answered the question posed by @1899.... The 800 stamps for $1.00 would be the only 1/8c US revenue stamp - 1898 Proprietary Stamp, Scott #RB20.

I was really surprised when the the string continued after Terry's response. The only reason was a math thing - 12.5 cents vs .125 cents, an easy mistake to make!!
Those pesky decimal points.
Besides RB20, there is also RB32 wmkd 190 and RB44 wmkd 191R.
1899
I was thinking of standard mail stamps.
Revs would have given it away though...
Posted a picture of the 12.5c stamp for clarification.
i guess people thought that was an answer.
Decimals....
Sorry I made this so complicated!
I thougth it was very simple.
Sure got some off the wall answers, a few made me laugh, thank you
