Sometimes mail delivery defies all logic. We once had a packet that was sent to us from the USA. It first went to the Netherlands Antilles, was then for some mind blowing reason redirected to Kyrgyzstan (!) before arriving in the Netherlands, half a year after being sent... And more recently, we received a Christmas card from a relative, sent from a place just 20 kilometres away, but taking 15 days to arrive.

For what it’s worth, I mailed a letter from France to the USA on November 27, 2025. It arrived at the destination’s distribution center on December 3, then stalled and bounced back and forth between several nearby states before finally being delivered yesterday.
