Very nice Alyn,
Original and eye catching. To my understanding, what you have produced would be better referenced as 'prose' rather than poetry/poem, but others will correct me if my understanding is off the mark.
The suggestion that we all try to put together something like you have done is of interest to me.Should you find that others would like to do that but could use a guiding hand, I'd be happy to try to assist you in that poetry/prose group. Just let me know if you need any backup.
Nicely done,
Dan C.
Thanks Dan, I was never good at figuring out the difference between poetry, prose etc... Last year my son asked for help with a haiku and my initial response was to say 'Bless You'.
I think a 1 page on any topic would be good.
Thanks again Dan.
Alyn
Very nice Alyn, rather it be Poetry, Prose or Haiku, very well done.
Mike
Thanks Mike.
Very nice Exhibit!
I too like the idea of having that type of thing here on SOR - not necessarily poetry, etc. just one page exhibits. I do like our exhibits we have but a one page exhibit has so many possibilities - we could get a real good sampling of our members' collection interests.
Alyn - I love your response to the Haiku question from your son. Priceless!!!
Very nice! I love the poem (and yes it is poetry - "free verse" as opposed to other forms such as "heroic verse" and "blank verse").
I may have to do something similar. With all the talent in this Club, I'll bet we can assemble an excellent selection of single page exhibits.
Bobby
Thank you Kelly and Bobby.
Kelly I agree a single page exhibit/competition here would be good. Something to explore for the future.
Alyn
Alyn,
The 1 pager looks great ! The poetry is a good effort as well. The only poems I can write begin with "roses are red..
I would love to see 1 pg "exhibits" promoted and something done with that here. It would be a fun way to share our interests, see some fun material, and help us promote people getting started with exhibiting.
Who ever would be in charge.. let me know when and i will get started !
jere
So Alyn, see what you've done! Jere's invite looks good to me. What say you-are you up to pulling together a poetry/exhibit group of stamp folk?
Dan C.
The "roses are red" comment reminded me of my most recent attempt. We recently celebrated our 46th anniversary, and the modern gift was poetry. So, here's my gift to my bride: "Roses are red, violets are blue; most poems rhyme, this one doesn't."

Good Man Alyn,
I'm going to be away in the back woods of Penn. for the first 2 weeks in Oct. No Internet or computer there. I'll give you a shout when I'm back in town. Also I'm posting info on the message center for you.

Great exhibit Alyn. These one page exhibits seem to be popping up more and more. i am in the process of putting one together for the Penguins On Stamps Study Unit.
Could I ask you for the link to the site running the competition?
Thanks.
Jeff
Thanks Jeff,
The other site is Stamp Bears I would be interested to hear/see how your work on what you are doing for the Penquins on Stamps Study unit is going.
Alyn
Thanks Alyn. I am still playing with a few ideas with the material I have. I hope to have this done in the next month and will post the page when I finish.
Good morning All,
On another site they have a single page exhibit competition, so here is my entry. Feel free to critique and comment.
The theme for this exhibit was using stamps to demonstrate a poem. For this page, the poem is my own original work. So without further adieu, here is my entry.
A higher resolution scan is available here: http://s5.postimg.org/lc6ge9kt3/SBPoetry_Comp_Addr_Rem.jpg
I think, single page exhibits are something that we could/should do here at Stamporama well.
All the best,
Alyn
