Hello SOR Members,

Steve Swain has just published another article for our site: U.S. National Air Mail Week: May 15-21 1938.

The article provides a wealth of details on this milestone event in U.S. Airmail service in which every citizen was encouraged to send an airmail letter during the week of May 15-21 1938. The event was promoted by postmasters and various organizations across the country, and was celebrated with thousands of special commemorative cachets. Steve has about 150 Airmail Week cachets in his collection and the article is nicely illustrated with some examples.

This isn't the first time Steve has introduced me to a collecting area I previously knew nothing about – and I'm now likely to go on the hunt for a few Airmail Week covers of my own.

Thanks to Steve for another great contribution for the site.
