I kept my worldwide stamp collection in Scott Internationals but recently bought a great set of essentially unused Minkus Global Supreme Albums complete through 1977 and am about to begin the monumental task of transferring my collection to those. I also maintain separate collections of Austria, Yugoslavia, Italian Colonies, and Mongolia in separate Minkus Specialty Albums but certainly don't consider myself a specialist in any of those areas.

My original plan was to incorporate the specialty pages within the Global Supreme albums (I have a few extra binders for the pages) as a way of just keeping everything together... pages look very similar except the are more comprehensive and printed only on one side.

Now I'm wondering if I should continue to maintain these specialty albums as separate collections within their own individual binders. I go back and forth... sure don't want to do all that work and then change my mind!

re: Should I combine Minkus Specialty Pages with Minkus Global Supreme Albums or keep them sepatared?

I had that same decision to make many moons ago regarding Scott album pages. I combined the Scott International and Specialty pages chronologically by alphabet. I also use Steiner pages, and place those in line with the Scott pages. I have a few Minkus pages for a couple of countries that Scott and Steiner do not provide. This are placed in my albums with all the other pages. It has proved to be very convenient when working on stamps. All the pages are assembled into many Scott/Scott-style Specialty binder to makes on huge A-Z world-wide album set.

re: Should I combine Minkus Specialty Pages with Minkus Global Supreme Albums or keep them sepatared?

It's totally up to you of course how you have your collection, but if it was mine, I would keep the countries that have seperate in seperate albums, especially if you work on those countries more often.
You probably have a lot more stamps for those countries then you do for the rest of the world, so I think it would be nicer to have them seperate.

Also do you have covers, or any other stamp related items to go with your favourite countries? You might want to add them into the albums, and that would start making your world albums so thick.
Between my daughter and I we only collect certain countries and we have about 20 different and they are all in seperate albums. We like to add covers, postcards, interesting postmarks or slogans even if they are still only on a piece of the envelope.

When you are working on your stamps you can still only work on a few countries at a time, so sort them out, worldwide and favourites. I think it would still be easy to work on them.

The question:
" ... Now I'm wondering if I should continue to maintain these specialty albums as separate collections within their own individual binders ? ..."

Should you ?

You should do what seems logical AND makes you feel satisfied.
Years ago I bought a similar acumulation of used Minkus Master/Supreme Global Worldwide Albums that went up to about 1975 or thereabouts.
My solution once I discovered how expensive the next year's updates were as well as the number of pages of Wall paper stamps, souvenir sheets and extraneous items were included and wasted page space, was to go through the albums and dump the pages alloted to contrived souvenirs from sheikdoms, certain Caribbean Islands and much of Iron Curtain countries, keeping only the pages that were likely to relate to stamps hat were available postally used.
Next I began to put stamps that came out after 1975 into separate three ring binders, mounted, new or used, with hinges, on #67 acid free paper. As certain countries or areas were developed and their albums became full, they were moved into wider binders. I happen to be something of a minimalist and seldom create complicated write-up, feeling that if the stamps have the nation's name inscribed, the binder has a title on the cover and the subject is obvious there is no particular need to repeat the obvious page after page. I have in hand a UK stamp that is inscribed "700thAnniversary of Parliament" below a drawing of the Parliament Building and a representation of the Queen's image, repeating that is, in my estimation redundant and boring. If a single perforation or combination is used year after year, the perf numbers need not be repeated under every stamp.
I do denote the year of issue so the pages are more or less in chronological order.
Now that satisfies me, and I'd be the first to admit it may not be enough for everyone, so I'll repeat; " ...do what seems logical AND makes you feel satisfied....".
Good luck,
Charlie
