re: Occupation Stampsoaker

In my youth, I worked as a pizza cook. On my tax forms, both Federal and State, for occupation I put down "dough jockey". My Federal return came back with a modest refund in a timely manner. The State return took a LOT longer, but came back with the VERY modest refund I expected. I don't know if my youthful indiscretion delayed my State refund or not, but I decided that being a smarta$$ on my tax forms was probably not the wisest course of action.

re: Occupation Stampsoaker

At GM where I worked there were 100 ft wide bays with huge overhead cranes that were used to move 50,000+ pound dies. The dies were hung from the cranes using enormous hooks. The job title of the person who attached the hooks was "hooker". Most of the hookers were men, but one day a lady got the job. I overheard her bragging in the cafeteria that she was officially a "hooker." It took her a few seconds to realize why the entire cafeteria was laughing! OMG!!! Laughing

re: Occupation Stampsoaker

Some years ago, while being quizzed once again at the VA by another nurse asking the repetitious questions that I had been, and still am, asked dozens of times, I replied, "Lead" when asked if I had any known allergies.
She entered it into the computer as a routine answer, and for years it remained in my file. To those who were curious about my "lead" allergy I explained "Bullets," especially those with only a half metal jacket.
Some laughed at the jape.
Some seemed puzzled.
A few asked a question before "getting it."
Someone finally deleted it from my file.
I still answer that query the same way, just to see if someone is paying attention.

When asked if I have any allergies, I always reply "Frangrances, Bee stings, Poison Ivy and BS" The last usually gets a big laugh. Whenever the fellas I worked with got carried away with their talk, I would start "sneezing" and they would get the message. Rolling On The Floor Laughing
