Our postal service at its finest!
But why Jacksonville ?
From this part of Florida it should have gone to central sorting for this area in Gainesville, then south to West Palm Beach for local distribution in Port St Lucie ! I'm glad they do not charge by the mile.
I'll never understand the USPS.
Well, Charlie, you did use a circus stamp on the envelope. Were you expecting anything else?
I recently had a package that was coming from New Jersey to me in Orlando and it was stuck in Jacksonville for several days, saying it was "Out For Delivery".
USPS has not been my friend lately either, especailly after determining for at least one day that any mail addressed to bme should be returned to sender!! For that I got a message left on my voice mail, but when I tried to return the call, it was either busy or kept ringing!
Automation is a wonderful thing. Nothing can go wrong....go wrong...go wrong!

Mike - I think your computer developed a stutter!
I also got mail from Charlie with the same single-line Slogan cancel (energy action month)but mine was in place with two nicely cancelled stamps and one uncancelled. My envelope was fed in the correct way !!
I did not get the multi-line backstamp but I did get the luminous orange Tag Coding over the Shrine Circus label !!
Thanks Charlie......nice cover Philatelia.
FYI - A Stamporama friend who collects ink-jet cancels asked for the cover, so it has found a good home in a specialized collection where it will be well cared for.
LOL - don't I sound like I'm finding a home for puppies or kittens when I sell or trade my stamps? Not sure why, but I kinda sorta feel that way about my lil' orphans. I want them to go to GOOD homes, not stamp mills.
3 cancels and a barcode and they all missed the stamp! This cover is just too funny - had to share with all of you. Maybe the "hubba hubba" threw them off their game. Or maybe the gal just was not going to have her makeup mussed. LOL!
