Here's an interesting seal I hadn't seen before. I bought a lot of a couple of George Washington Bicentennial (1932) covers. I didn't have 3 of them and this was the 4th cover that I already had. Turn it over and surprise! This is a keeper.

re: FDR For President

Was this issued by the Ku Klux Klan? or by supporters of Donald Trump...... - more likely by someone somewhat further to the right of Attila the Hun !

Incidentally you may not be aware but there are moves afoot to have the Mr. Trump barred from entry to the U.K. He has retaliated by threatening to withdraw his investment in the U.K. which might want people to question his commitment to the principle of free speech ? - or maybe if he gets power he will ban all Brits too ? I personally cannot take the man seriously - he is as much of a joke as Boris Johnson the mayor of London ( and possibly the next leader of the Conservative party) is here.

It will never fly, because as the Prime Minister has said, you cannot ban a person for comments and opinions made in his own country, and also most of the people pushing for this have people who could be said to have a biased basis for their opposition - most people here are more tolerant than that. However if he were to make similar comments here.......

WOW!
This turned political real quick. And we get to hear from England on our president.
The Ku Klux Klan? Really?
Everything on that cover has come true. Maybe you should ask some of the people here about their health care. If you like Mr. Obama so much maybe he can come to your country, he'll be looking for a new job by the end of the year. I must be a racist according to you be cause I didn't vote for Mr. Obama Everything on that cover is true so I must be a Klan Member? It gets tiring listening to the left wing liberals in this country, now we get opinions from your country.

I am not going to censor anybody, but I am warning you to move any political arguments to the "off topic" area. The topic here is "FDR for President" so please get back on it. That Larsdog posted an image of a cover with controversial text is not a reason to start an off topic rant.

re: FDR For President

Sorry,

The cover I was referencing was the top one. The bottom cover just happened to be on the same album page. But let's look at that bottom cover, and what I said about it:

"Some modern 'Inaugural' covers are actually 'Protest' covers."

I was just pointing out that there is a new category to collect in "Inaugural" covers, and that is what I designated "Protest" covers. Whether you agree or disagree with ANY of the statements on that cover, you must admit that a new avenue of free expression has been created, and that is worth noting. Whether you think that is good or bad is certainly up to you. If anyone is aware of similar language on an inaugural cover in the past, I would be very interested to learn about it and hopefully add an example to my collection.

I honestly didn't think about what was on the same page as the FDR cover. I was merely trying to show an example of what was being discussed, not make a political statement.

Hi Lars,
I didn't take your posting as a political statement. I saw it as what you presented and did not try to read anything else into it. You showed a protest cover from your collection, thanks.
