This arrived today from Eetalee, complete with a whole gaggle of stamp fodder. I am not amused, as the tight wad seller has used stamps denominated in Lira and not Euros. Or am I over-reacting?

Anyway, the question is; are these still valid for use, or have these snuck through the wonderful Italian postal system undetected?

Colnect is good about including 'expiration' dates for demonetized stamps.

Since the original question appears to have come to a satisfactory resolution, I hope no one takes offense if I stray, slightly, to say

Hi Kim! Wave Hi Ningpo! Wave

The Italian Post Office web site, http://www.poste.it/, says, for both mail within Italy and for abroad:

I francobolli con il valore espresso in lire o in lire/euro possono essere ancora utilizzati...

i.e. stamps with values expressed in lire or in lire/euros can still be used...

Spoken like a native sir!

I suppose they must have some sort of published conversion table for this purpose?
