1992 Children's Week charity stamp from "Serbia". This was around the time Yugoslavia was breaking up, hence the quotes around Serbia.

Sorry, I don't have a catalog that lists it.

re: Need help with identifying this stamp - Yugoslavia / Serbia

You're welcome.

I forgot, I do have a catalog that lists that stamp. In Milanović Jugoslavia (I like to call it the M&M Katalog Big Grin ), it is FR Jugoslavia Serbia #006(5Oct1992).

While I often see the Scott listed postal tax stamps, I don't often see the later non-Scott-listed stamps like the one you posted.

The Children's Week stamps enjoy a long history in Yugoslavian philately. The US did issue poster stamps for Children's Week in the
1940s.

For Yugoslavia in Scott, we have the Child Welfare semipostals preceding WWII. In the 1950s, annual Children's Week postage stamps were issue. Subsequent issues were postal tax stamps starting in 1954. In 1962, they returned to annual postage stamp issues up to the mid-1970s.

Meanwhile, numerous Children's Week labels (no postal validity and undenominated) were issued in the 1960s and 1970s. These and following issues are not listed in Scott.

These were followed by regional cinderellas, again no postal validity, although some were denominated.

These were the fore-runners of the annual Children's Week, which started in 1988 for Serbia, with the 1992 Serbia issue you showed in the FR Yugoslavian section of the M&M Katalog. I'm not sure, but I had always assumed the Serbian issues starting in 1988 were obligatory postal tax stamps for that week, but I will leave that for others to confirm or correct.

yes this stamp and others like it were issued in Serbia many of which are not cataloged in Michel. I had obtained a download of the M & M catalog from Yugoslavia but misplaced it. Does anyone have a link to it?
