I figure since I have 6 of these and they catalogue at $55 each, they must be counterfeit. But on the other hand, the overprint is just as blurred as the picture in Scott's. Any thoughts? All will be appreciated.

re: Any ideas, real or counterfeit?

oh yeah, I do that all the time. Sorry!

I didn't mention the SCN either. What a doofus! Shanghai 55, mint no gum, although there is a little gum remainder on a couple of these.

re: Any ideas, real or counterfeit?

The scan is frankly too blurred...
However it appears very similar to the genuine but differences are visible
Forgeries with these can be the matter of a misplaced stroke

Anyway you might have a genuine & fairly valuable in a block.
I would get a $5 opinion from the US China Society

re: Any ideas, real or counterfeit?

Thank you for that opinion JF. I think for only $5 it would be worth sending it in. I'll check into that tomorrow.
