Hi Mel,
Scott list all the different Saar issues under "Saar".
This one is Scott Saar #395.
Duh, what an idiot I am. Looking at vol 6 which starts with SAN instead of vol 5 which has the Saa.
The alphabet was never one of my best subjects.
Thanks, Nigelc for your help.

Yes, of course I thought Saar should logically be under Germany when I first started collecting that very interesting area, but I learned later the French would tend to disagree.
SAAR collectors unite!
Saar is of interest to German collectors. I believe it is separate in regular catalogs because it existed as a French Protectorate until its re consolidation into West Germany in 1957.
Can someone tell me if this stamp is in any of the Scott catalgues and if so where?
I know the history of Saar between Germany and France and the story behind this stamp, but do not know where to find ID information. If it is only contained in another catalogue besides Scott, please provide in which country (countries) is should be associated with if any.
Thanks for any help.
Mel
