Hi,
Can you give us a much bigger scan please, even if it's of only one stamp?
Here's a pic of one
Thanks for the new scan.
I think I've pieced most of this together.
It looks very Ukrainian indeed, with the trident symbol in the top left, and lots of references to the great hero Ivan Mazepa.
In this case the trident forms part of the symbol of the Plast, the Ukrainian Scouting association.
The text says "Mazepa Year" at the top and "Plast Post" at the bottom in Ukrainian.
The large letters "IM" are Ivan's initials in Ukrainian (and in English of course!) and the arms are the ones he used.
I guess the year will be 2009, the 300th anniversary of Mazepa's death.
Thanks for the info, gets me closer. At least a year to go by, my Harris Album doesn't have 2009 yet. Need to order the 2015 supplements to see if it's there.
These appear to be charity labels for the Ukrainian Scouts rather than Ukrainian postage stamps.
Nigelc, you are correct, thanks for your help. I also contacted a Russian friend who translated it and it turns out to be a Scout group in Ukraine. I'll put them in the back of the book.
This was a fund-raising "stamp" issued by the Ukrainian Scouts in exile in New York in 1959.
Information from the SOSSI website ( Scouts on Stamps Society International ).This is an excellent website for all stamps/seals connected with Scouting. There is a very comprehensive catalogue there.

Can anyone identify this? I think it's Ukraine but not 100% sure.
