re: Im a newby....please help me with identification!

Looks like Scott #552 which is listed with three colors Deep Green / Green & Pale Green

Perf. 11

Or #581 Green / Yellow Green & Pale Green Perf 10

Do you have a perf gauge and a Scott catalog ?

And welcome to a Great Site........Enjoy

By counting perfs it is easy to see that your stamp is perf 11. It is 99.999% Scott number 552 and one of the most common stamps ever produced by the USPS. It was issued in 1923. Even if it did not have the scuff on the face it would have no real value.
