Is there a way to sort the approval books by last updated? I noticed the largest book number does not mean the latest book posted.

re: Approval Book Sort Order

Hi Al,
By default the Approval Books are sorted by the Percent Sold so that the books that have sold the least come up first. In most cases that gives the newest books the most visibility. What that does mean though is that if you post a book and I immediately go in and buy 95% of the material, the book will drop down towards the bottom of the list. If you want to make sure that you are seeing the newest books, no matter how much has been sold, click on the Book Number heading to sort the list by book number.

Hope this helps.

Tim.

re: Approval Book Sort Order

This is what I had assumed initially but what made me think this was not correct was that the last page added info on the front section of the each book entry.

Example
Book 10358: Last Page Added: 14 Nov 2017
Book 10316: Last Page Added: 20 Nov 2017

So what does "last page added" mean ? Is it the last day something sold or are sellers adding pages to an active book?

Curious.

re: Approval Book Sort Order

I think what Angore is asking is why the latest posted approval book is not shown at the top of the list even when sorting by book number. When a seller first starts composing a book, a book number is immediately assigned by SOR. If it takes a while for the seller to make the final submission, other books may have been initiated and finished, prior to his/her book being published. So even if the list is sorted by book number, the latest book submitted may be down the list.
If SOR designated the book number at the time of submittal, this would not be an issue. However, this programming change may not be feasible.

re: Approval Book Sort Order

One issue that was discussed when the Approval platform were designed is preventing people from gaming the system.
One could add just one stamp and get the book re-listed per the last added date. Not a good idea...since most people look at the book list in chronological order.
On the other hand, a book number is issued when a book is first being worked on. If it takes a seller several days to complete his/her book prior to activating it, it will appear further down on the list. Ideally, the first activation date of a new book should be the one that sets the book number....but software may be a lot more difficult to implement, and the current system works even with its limitations!
When searching for new books, I know not to only look at the chronological list by book numbers, but to scan further down the list. There is a flag that shows up if you have not yet looked at a book, and thus will tell you what you missed.

Adding pages, rather than redoing a book is often a quick solution chosen to give extra life to one's book. But I think we all agree that reworking a book and issuing it anew is a preferable solution, to the seller, as well as to the buyer.
Maybe adding pages should be restricted to 15 days from initial activation, as sellers may need extra time to complete a book. But adding pages several months into the life of a book???

So, the default order is the SUBMITTED order and the book number order is just INITIAL CREATION order.
