I honestly don't remember these, but mom says we took our dimes to school once a week and bought the stamps, she didn't believe any of us ever actually filled one to the end.
Anyway, she set them back for me and I'm glad to have them.
These are the first ones I've been made aware of and any information/discussion on earlier or later versions would be welcome and appreciated.

$4.12 was a lot money in 1918 and you made whopping $.88 after 5 years. But that's okay, the war effort was much more important then the return on the investment.
It doesn't seem like there's near the push (or even mention of) to buy savings bonds these days, as there was even when I was younger.(post WWII, Korea and Vietnam) I still have a handful that I bought through work back in the mid-late 70's. The place I worked actually chipped in 10% of the cost, once a month, up to a certain amount.

After dad passed away in September, mom cleaned out a few of his dresser drawers and came across these. There were 3 different styles and 5 "albums" all together and the album printing dates are from 1953-'58. Two were made out in my brothers name and one in mine, the other two were blank and all 5 had just a few of the stamps each. All stamps are alike and I believe a full album bought a $25 Savings Bond. ($18.70 in stamps)
