Your cover is not a first day cover, the first day for that stamp (Scott 555) was Feb 12 1923. So what you have is an event cover, on Lincoln's 127th birthday, so it's not even a significant anniversary.
Value? Would be a buck or so, but probably not due to the damage in the upper left corner.
But the "Coolness" factor is QUITE high!!!

Found this cover in a box lot I bought at a club auction. Was rooting around on ebay and other places on the web and couldn't find any info. Any help as to origin, scarcity, value, etc would be appreciated!
