For page and album creation I use albumeasy. The creator is a member of this board and has been very helpful and quick to respond to any questions via email. I cannot give him enough thanks for a great product. I especially like the ability to embed the stamp images in the album. The learning curve is very low and you can print the produced PDF on your local printer or take it to a print shop
Hope that helps
Bob
I concur regarding AlbumEasy. Great product, versatile, and, with the use of cutting and pasting (or creation of macros within your text editor), rather speedy. Though it doesn't create something like a want list, I assume the work you will have done in advance to create album pages means you're almost there with the basic info you need to generate a want list in Excel or something comparable.

I would, also, like to recommend use of Album Easy. It works very effectively, generates its output as a PDF file which can be easily printed at a print shop, and offers a wide variety of features. Its use of a text based control file to build an album makes it very easy to customize the output without having to spend half your life nudging graphics objects into compliance with your output desires!
I have installed albumeasy and will spend some time working with it.
Thanks everyone.

Album Easy
World Collector
The last two, I understand, are free to download.
I am the author of World collector it is now undergoing a rewrite etc you can check it out worldcollector.eu
It is free to download and use etc.
I keep looking at album easy and if there is some support for it will programme a simple export of album data to Album easy for further editing.
Any thoughts?

I’ve used AlbumEasy for a couple of years, and can say that it is highly versatile. I have been able to create totally unique designs, as well as creating “supliments” in the same style -font, boarders, etc. as the original commercial albums.
There is a learning curve, however, the steepness of which is a function of one’s technical aptitude. I am not very cutting edge when it comes to technology, That said, I was able to start making pages in about 20minutes. I was able to make nice pages in about an hour.

Hi all,
Two questions please:
-----------------------
@All,
1) What is the website for AlbumEasy? Is it this? http://www.thestampweb.com/
-----------------------
@MustangA,
2) What is the website that shows all stamps by topic, please?
-----------------------
Thank you!
JR

One place (there may be others...I am as new as you are to the hobby....and based on what you've written, you've collected way more than I have at this point) is this great list. I am using the years page, but if you check the theme tab, you will see what I mean.

I tried downloading World Collector. I did it, but then could not find the software on my computer.
Thanks for the link regarding the colnect site with the count of stamp issues per year, issues by country, etc. This is a fascinating resource.
Hi All
Back again after an enforced break.
World Collector has undergone a rewrite it now i includes.
Image recognition. (Only 70,000 images at the moment)
Data on over 400,000 stamps (Some specialist but mainly a simplified list of stamps growing all the time)
Image magnifier scan in your stamp and magnify to look at errors etc.
Perforation gauge (New and computer based requires exact scans of the stamp)
Simplified album page production. Select the stamps you want in an album and tell the programme to make an album. All output in PDF format.
It will also now produce themed albums such as 75th Anniversary of the UPU which span several countries using the country name as a header.
Now settling down again and picking up where I left off so will start to programme an export of albums in AlbumEasy format for further editing.
Mostly rewritten on the Apple MAC so if anyone has an Apple computer and wants to try a copy please contact me. Do not download the programme from the website it is a little out of date. I will post the link here if anyone interested.
I would be very interested in having access to the your new version and have an available Macintosh computer running the most current version of MacOS.
My first choice would be Microsoft Suite, mainly Powerpoint and Publisher. At first you will need to create the basic graphics such as stamp frames and page layouts, but soon enough you will have a library of pages to use as starting points.
I like these tools as I use them in business every day and they are least likely to go away!
Hi

I started many years ago with the Microsift Suite then tried Adobe Page Maker like Steiner but found these to be very labour intensive and time consuming for a whole world collector. Plus changing paper sizes meant doing most of the work again.
One reason I started the World Collector project was to get album pages quickly to house my collection.
As an example here is a link to a PDF for Abu Dhabi.
https://www.mediafire.com/file/jvc82ni12iggtjp/Abu_Dhabi.PDF/file
Created in less than a minute. (A4 page size Letter not a problem)
The base file can be shared with anyone running World Collector who can then with just a few clicks produce the PDF in whatever page size they wish.
Of course this is a simplified album but as more data is added it can be recreated with the specialist stamps added etc.
The problem has been to allow collectors to modify these albums to their own preference which is why I am writing an export to AlbumEasy (Ready In A couple of weeks) this will allow the easy creation of the AlbumEasy base text file which can then be easily modyfied by the collector.
Hi everyone,
I've waited a few years before committing to any album creation software. Album easy looks like the winner from member posts. For my 1st project, I am going to supplement my DAVO pages with Album easy pages for varieties, errors, blocks, covers etc. Yes, I expect it to be giant. That being said, has anyone already made such a beast, or at least the Canada pages so that I have a basis to start from?
Thanks all.
Never mind, found some at : https://www.thestampweb.com/albums/free-downloads
Hi are these the world collector exports?
You can also see these on this page.http://stampcollector.epizy.com/AlbumEasy.html
Only just started the export to AlbumEasy and is growing so just a few at the moment but other countries coming along.
I am thinking of putting together a couple of different albums. One based on a single year and one based on a topic (bicycles). This is a long term project so I am doing my research now.
Thankfully a member of this board pointed me to a fantastic website that lists all the stamps of a given year or topic. That is incredible.
I generally like the look of an album with mounts to vario style pages. As a result, I am going to have to print up my own.
What I want from the software is
1) ease of use
2) reasonable cost
3) the ability to take the data to a print house rather than print at home
What would also be nice
1) images. I am not sure whether this is important or not as I have not decided if I am going to use clear mounts or black mounts. Black looks striking, but an album with images makes it easier to collect.
2) a way to make my own wish list I could take to show to start tracking down some of these stamps that I want. My experience at shows is very limited, so I don't know if just knowing the catalogue number and country is enough? Do all stamp dealers in Canada use Scott numbers? It seems reasonable that they do, but again, my lack of experience shows in this area.
3) some useful text data that I could put beside the stamps. I am not sure what this will be yet as I am still new to this. Since the book is going to be one year, the date is not really important, but some identifiers or anecdotes might be nice.....
Software I have seen on the internet
EZstamp with Albumgen
Stamp Manage (I don't know if Album Creation is a feature on this software)
Album Easy
World Collector
The last two, I understand, are free to download. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these, and could offer me some advice on ease of use, printing, etc. I am computer literate, but I wouldn't call myself even an intermediate user.
Also, if a better solution exists, I would be glad to hear about it.
